Hm, seems I really missed the band wagon with this one. I stumbled across
Blu Dot Clock somehow and now have it sitting on my desktop, seriously cool. Having decided to introduce everyone to it via my blog, I realised that everyone already knew about it back in April 2005.
Never mind, maybe it's time people were reminded of
Blu Dot Clock again anyway. It is a little dynamic thing that goes on your desktop (which I usually hate) made up of 720 photographic images, one for every minute of the day.
Just to bring something new to this story, I made this nifty
desktop wallpaper to go with
Blu Dot Clock, so that when the clock is sitting on your desktop it doesn't look so out of place. I put the clock in the top right corner so I remember where it is. If your desktop is a different proportion to mine (1280x1024) I suggest you make the wallpaper 100% and add a white background to 'fill' because if you stretch it, the downloaded clock won't fit with the others.

Marco van Hylckama Vlieg has put together a dramatic and spectacular collection of his photographs showing mid-century signage that has seen better days.
I would love a collection of these prints framed in my hallway or perhaps this one,
Fabricare, wallpapered in my bedroom.

Romp started out as a store for 'modern kids' in Brooklyn but is now completely online so now their range of quirky collectables are available to the world. As they say on there site:
Romp is about play – from play with toys to play in the design of our homes.
And I would love the chance to play with these colourful
owls to enhance the design of my new place. I can see the spot they would fit right in on my white
malm chest of drawers in my bedroom.
The owls are made by Kirsty McIntosh from cut wood, painted and collaged with patterned retro inspired papers. Hoot hoot!

I have been looking for a touch of whimsy for my new apartment (40 days until settlement!) and I came across the wallpaper at
Walnut. New and vintage designs arranged by colour or a gallery of rooms, I think there is something for everyone.
I am particularly fond of the
garden birds with their muted colouring and the way they perch on simple sticks. They would look great on the hall wall that can be seen from the living room.
Whales is also worth checking out, I think my little nephews would love that one in their bathroom.
